Build a Successful Online Business by Blogging

Beginning early this year, certain search engine made some changes to their search ranking,   the reason cited is that google wanted to provide more relevant results, google engineers published blog post which indicated there were 11.8% organic search results will be affected, in plain English, there are about 12% of google search results are considered low quality by google itself. Google started this change almost one year ago, and recently I see some of my ranks were lowered considerably, on the other hand almost all keywords promoted by contextual links are not affected, some of the keywords even ranked better than before, it’s almost a sure thing that plain link building loses all it’s attraction, at least in the eye of google.

Now what on earth is plain link building and how do people do it? There are a lot of SEO company out there are doing this, they put your links on websites which only exist for holding links, the only updates on those websites are the new links, and most of them are useless, the name of link spamming sites is justified. Now google algorithm probably will weed out these sites, any links on them will be affected too. 

Let’s check out a few examples. It was quite some time ago, I needed to rank the keyword, Tow Chains, it was old way of link building all the way, lately I figured that every site in the campaign had way too many links, worst yet, those sites had no content at all. This strategy worked in the beginning, finally the rank improved a lot, the party was over when google updated it’s algorithm. Here is another keyword, chain pullers, most back links for this keyword are from articles and posts, with very few plain links, now we have really good ranking for this keyword. So contextual link wins this time, what about future? It all boils down to content, as long as you dole out high quality content, not only people will love to read your stuff, so do the search engines. It’s never too late to build good blogs for business purpose, such as this interesting blog, mothers day gift , I didn’t put too much effort into it from start, but I never stopped posting, now it can even rank the highly competitive keywords. As we can see, creating quality content and blog marketing is what we have to do to get great result. The update was initiated more than a year ago, maybe that’s why some of my ranks dropped out of first 10 pages, the good thing is that those keywords promoted by content rich links are not affected, some of the keywords even ranked better than before, it’s obvious that link building the old way is the thing of past, probably due to link spamming sites being thrown away by google.

Now what on earth is plain link building and how do people do it? There are a lot of SEO company out there are doing this, they will get links from any websites which accept adding links, these websites will only be updated when new links are being added, it’s safe to assume all of them are trash, we call these sites link spamming sites. Now google algorithm probably will weed out these sites, the links on those spamming sites won’t work anymore.  

Let’s check out a few examples. There are a lot of SEO company out there are doing this, they will get links from any websites which accept adding links, the only updates on those websites are the new links, and most of them are useless, we call these sites link spamming sites. The latest google update will definitely downgrade most if not all of these sites, the links on those spamming sites won’t work anymore.  

A few real world examples will help to explain what I said. In the very beginning, I didn’t know better, I needed to rank the keyword, Grade 70 Chain, at that time almost every body was doing plain linking campaign, almost all the sites I got link from had too many links, worst yet, those sites had no content at all. I would give credit where credit is due, this linking strategy worked, lately the keyword link stayed on the first page for a while, this was the case until google made the change. Now let’s look at another keyword, chain puller , most back links for this keyword are from articles and posts, not too many plain links have been built, now we have really good ranking for this keyword. Old and outdated linking campaign lost to content linking, what’s next? Actually this is all about content, so if you create great content, not only people will love to read your stuff, so do the search engines. How do you do it? Writing articles and building blogs, such as this interesting blog, fathers day gift , in the beginning I just post to it casually, lately I added nice stuff left and right, and to my surprise, I have high ranks for some of  competitive keywords. As we can see, creating quality content and article marketing is what we have to do to get great result. Now imagine you have your own blog network, something like Ratchet Binders, then you will have a powerful weapon in your SEO arsenal.

Remember content is king, you just need to create content, share the content with people, and put your keywords in the context you’re good to go, your effort will reward you handsomely in the end. The virtues, persistence and patience, are essential for your success, nothing will automatically improve overnight, be it your business or search rankings, keep writing, publishing, sharing and creating, you will see the day of success. The Twitter tools is a wordpress plugin, you can install it, sign up for a twitter account and create a new application, set up API credentials in your twitter tools option, then make sure every new post will post a new tweet, it’s easy and really useful, it’s a big loss if you don’t use this tool.
